Maine Fishing Families Cookbook

Cookbook

Friends! I'm so excited about this project! For years I've been using my Fisherman's Wives Cookbook  circa the 1980s (that was handed down to me by my mother-in-law) and dreamed of resurrecting the tradition. Well perhaps quarantine was the catalyst needed to make it happen. I've teamed up with Monique Coombs, Director of Marine Programs and a fellow fishing wife & mom. We'll be collecting collecting recipes from fishing families throughout the state to create a Maine Coast Fishing Families Cookbook. Creating cookbooks featuring recipes from fishing families is a time-honored tradition in Maine's coastal communities, and we hope that others will be just as excited as we are about this project.

Calling all Fishing Families!

With so many people buying and eating local seafood right now, it's a great opportunity to reinvigorate a fishermen's wives tradition and create a seafood cookbook of fishing family recipes.
Fishing families, we need your help - send us your best seafood recipes accompanied with your salty stories and pictures. Email me with your recipes and any questions and help spread the word in your fishing communities.

Buying the Book

These cookbooks will be published and sold with all of the proceeds will being donated to the Maine Coast Fishermen's Association supporting their efforts to continue to conserve Maine's working waterfront and family fishing businesses. Of course I will let you know when the book goes on sale, but the best way to stay update to date is to join the MCFA mailing list

Thank you all for your interest and support of this cookbook! AND, thank you all for supporting small local businesses and looking to source your food locally during these last couple months of craziness. Definitely a silver lining during unprecedented times.
