I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It's hard to believe the holiday season is in full swing. I LOVE this time of year with all the fun activities, family gatherings, yummy food, festive music, and movies galore. But there's also no denying it's a busy time of year, no matter how much we try to slow down. I want to do special gifts with the kids for their teachers, but I need them to be simple (especially this year with our new little guy joining us soon). I'm excited that Week #3 of the Holiday Blog Hop from Savvy Sassy Moms is all about Dazzling DIY. I'm sharing an easy flower pot gift the boys and I have been working on and I can't wait to see what else what great ideas you have!

Flower pot teacher gift
I like to have the boys take part in making something special for their teachers, and they always are so proud and excited to gift them. This year we've been working on sweet and simple flower pots. Here's what we did:
Such a simple and affordable way to gift these amazing teachers something special and personal.
- Stocked up on small clay pots
- Bought acrylic paint in fun colors and an assortment of fun brushes/sponges
- Went to the greenhouse for potting soil and an assortment of simple indoor plants
- Painted all the pots white and let dry for a day
- Decorated the pots with the paints and let dry for a day
- Used a gold metallic sharpie to write on the rim - I wrote "Thanks for helping me grow" and my older son wrote a message for his teacher on the bottom
- We potted plants in each of the pots
- In lieu of wrapping them we're simply tying a bow of gold wire ribbon
Such a simple and affordable way to gift these amazing teachers something special and personal.
