September was unseasonably warm here in Maine. I won't complain about the extra bit of summer, but I am welcoming October and these crisp Fall days with open arms. Our mornings are getting extra chilly (which makes for great sleeping) and means dressing in layers is key. Spending most of my days chauffeuring kiddos, chasing after a toddler and working from home means I can keep things fairly casual.
For me a few great pairs of jeans are essential. Lately I've found Articles of Society to be a great fit for my body at a reasonable price point. Vests are also great because they add a little warmth and can pull an outfit together quickly. Comfortable footwear is always a requirement for me. In these transitional months, I tend to wear cute and fairly neutral/low profile sneakers slip ons or clogs. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm thinking of getting a pair of Birkenstock clogs as well.
Athleisure attire may actually be what I wear the most - right now I'm really loving Zella leggings as well as jogger pants. I got a pant from Sundry (similar to these) in my latest box from Stitch Fix, and I'm obsessed with the softness. Stylish and really warm pullovers are also key for Maine life. If you haven't checked out LL Bean lately, you're missing out. I like to support the brand as their local and you can't beat their quality and customer service, but they've really kicked up their style game up a notch and have some especially awesome pullovers. LL Bean has a great sale going on with 20% off and a $10 coupon with purchases over $50. While I'm not a big jewelry person, I do like a good pair of earrings. Nickel & Suede became my go-to because they are so light weight, easy to wear, and can quickly make a pair of jeans and a t-shirt look put-together.
Okay, here's a quick glance at some current favorites for the season. Many of these are on sale, and none of these are over $100 - I'll try to take some real-life photos soon!
