Holy smokes, time flies! Our little Walter is already one month (as of a few days ago)! Our little peanut that was born at 5lbs 15oz is now over 8lbs! It's been a busy month but a great month adjusting to our new normal as a family of five. We feel so blessed that he's finally here an our family is complete. As we've jumped back in the throws of diapers and baby gear one last time, I thought it would be fun to share some products we've been loving this month, some of these old favorites and some great new finds!
Owlet Monitor
While the Owlet isn't cheap at $250, its worth every penny. Piece of mind and sleep is priceless! With a base monitor that alerts you if there's an issue and easy to use app that tells me Walter's oxygen level and heart rate at anytime; this thing is amazing!
HALO Bassinest
I had been eyeing this since HALO first introduced it, and am so excited I got it for our new little guy; it did not disappoint. The Bassinest allows me to have little W right up close to my bed in his own safe space with such great and innovative features like mesh sides, swivel capabilities, and easy to push down side wall.
4moms mamaRoo with infant insert
We purchased our mamaRoo for our middle son, and it's held up great. Baby W is loving it just like his brother (maybe even a little more). The choice of natural motions and peaceful sounds are a big hit. I personally like that big brothers can't send him flying (as is the case with traditional swings), and it's sleek design that blends right into the décor. The infant insert was a must for our little peanut keeping him snug and secure. I should also note that we've been happy with our 4moms seats all around. We have the rockaRoo in our basement/play area, and the bounceRoo for Gandma's house and love them all.
UPPAbaby Vista
I'm a big UPPA fan; 1. because they make a great product, 2. because they have such amazing customer service, and 3. because they're based in Massachusetts, and New Englanders stick together. I had a Vista with my other two, but it was originally purchased for my first son (believe it was a 2009 model); it was still a great stroller and held up well, but because our car seat had expired, I decided to upgrade all around with a brand new Vista and Mesa car seat. My new 2015 Vista is gorgeous, rides so well, and is so versatile for our family. I love it and am SO impressed with the updates UPPA's made.
Zutano
Zutano has been our go to for clothing, so colorful, soft, and well made. Born at 36 weeks, our little guy was swimming in most outfits, but the Zutano newborn outfits fit him perfectly. The booties are also the best; essential for winter babies.
Happy Baby Wrap
With two older kiddos, having my hands free is often essential. I've always found babywearing a great way to keep baby calm and secure with the ability to multi-task. The Happy Wrap is one of my favorite carriers for wee ones. It's made of a great bamboo blend that is lightweight, breathable, and super soft.
Avent Pacifiers
These classic pacifiers from Avent are the only ones baby W will take thus we've bought TONS of them and put them in every bag and car we have. They are SO helpful for car rides, sleeptime, and helping me from becoming a human pacifier.
aden + anais burpy bibs
aden + anais products are always a favorite. Their Burpy Bibs or so handy and multifunctional; use them as a burp clothe now and bib later. The fabric is SO soft on babies skin and they hold up really well (as in multiple kiddos). The new High Seas pattern is my favorite!
The Ollie Swaddle
I had heard rave reviews about the Ollie Swaddle and couldn't wait to try it out with Baby W. I ordered one of the new swaddles from the nature collection, and it arrived when he was just over 3 weeks old and has made such a difference in our nighttime sleep patterns. Little W is now giving me an awesome stretch of 5 hours from about 8pm-1am consistently, and I know the Ollie Swaddle has played a big role in that.
Fisher Price Rock 'n Play
This is one of those items that I think you'll find on most ever parents list of favorites, and for good reason. It is cozy for baby, versatile, and easy to transport throughout the house or to Grandma's house etc. The cradling design is comforting for baby and the incline is especially great for babies with reflux etc. We used this with our middle son (wish we had it with our first), and it has been a lifesaver with baby W. It's been a great spot for napping and was the only place he'd sleep during the first few weeks, and then again when he had a cold and needed to be at an incline.
Dr. Brown's Bottles
With all three of my boys, Dr. Brown's bottles have been our favorites, the ones they'd take the easiest with the least amount of gas or reflux issues. With little W. we've been using the glass bottles and I started off with the preemie nipple which worked great for him. Having two older kids, it's nice to have the baby able to take a bottle once in a while, giving me the opportunity to watch a hockey game or do a school pick up without having to drag him into the cold.
Little Unicorn Muslin Blankets
I just recently stumbled upon Little Unicorn blankets on Instagram, and I'm so glad I did. First of all, they're adorable, with so many great prints (I got some great nautical ones of course), but they are also so soft, high quality, and extremely versatile. These blankets come everywhere with us, whether it be to swaddle baby, cover him from the sun, or as a nursing cover on the go.
Ju-Ju-Be B.F.F Diaper Bag
This is such a great bag, perfect for outings with baby and his big brothers. The fabric is a cinch to wipe down (perfect for us and winter in Maine), its design is well thought out with lots of useful compartments, and backpack straps that come in mighty handy. The bag comes in a variety of awesome patterns including the Admiral print (anchors) I chose.
Nose Frida
With two older brothers it's probably inevitable, but little baby W. has already been experiencing his first cold. The poor little guy had a few hard nights with his stuffy nose, but the Nose Frida has been such a great tool. I didn't have one with my older boys and now I know what all the buzz is about.
7a.m. enfant Cocoon
For a busy family of five in Maine, a car seat cover is a necessity! 7a.m. enfant makes quality, well designed products. We are loving our Cocoon; it’s safe for Baby (goes on the outside of the infant car seat), warm, and both wind and water repellent.
Oat Mama Lactation Granola Bars
Yum! These are delicious, not to mention filling for a mama on the go, and full of so much goodness and superfoods. They have a variety of flavors (peanut butter chocolate chip being my personal favorite) but all the bars are packed with flax, brewers yeast, oats, nuts, fruits, seeds, and more.
Spectra S2 Breast Pump
I was able to get this pump through my insurance, and I'm happy to report that I love it (better than any pump I've had before). Pumping has been important in my breastfeeding journey, helping our little early bird gain weight, helping me increase my supply, and giving me the freedom to have others feed him from to time.
Blanqi Highwaist Support Leggings
Blanqi leggings are the best! I wore these Highwaist Support Leggings bringing Walter home from the hospital, and I'm pretty sure I've worn them almost everyday since. I love the fabric, the quality, the support they offer, and the smoothness (aka less rolls). They're especially perfect after having a winter baby; I pair them with a tunic or large sweater and I'm good to go.
Basics Slimming Nursing Cami from Target
These are my go-to nursing tank. They're really comfortable, flattering, and perfect for layering (great length & fit); on most days you'll find me wearing one. These also don't break the bank (usually available on sale for less than $25) and are easy to find at target (in-store or online).
Milk Snob Nursing Cover (& Car Seat Cover)
With two older kids, busy days, and a hungry baby, this is such a great nursing cover as it's easy to use, light to pack, super soft, and offers great coverage. Love that it also doubles as a cover for the car seat. Also love that it is designed by a mother of 3.
Earth Mama Angel Baby Breastfeeding Essentials Kit
This is a great kit to have on hand if you're breastfeeding; it includes the Milkmaid Tea, the Nipple Butter, and Booby Tubes. Earth Mama Angel Baby products are gentle and soothing. The tea is great for me as I'm constantly working on my milk supply and looking to stay hydrated.
Are any of these products on your favorites list? Stay tuned, much more to come! Thanks as always for stopping by!
xx
